BLCK VC Announces Candice Morgan and Lo Toney as New Board Members, Strengthening Commitment to Expanding Black Representation in Venture Capital
BLCK VC, the leading non-profit organization dedicated to increasing Black representation and advancement in venture capital, is proud to welcome Candice Morgan and Lo Toney to its Board of Directors. Their extensive experience and leadership in venture capital, corporate diversity, and startup ecosystems will be invaluable as BLCK VC continues to drive systemic change in the industry.

Candice Morgan is a pioneering leader in fostering inclusivity within tech startups and venture capital firms. As co-founder of the Black Angel Group, she leverages extensive experience in shaping inclusive investment strategies. Candice spent the last five years as an Operating Partner at GV (Google Ventures) and previously led DEI efforts at Pinterest as the company’s first Head of Inclusion & Diversity. With a deep expertise in equitable investing and talent development, she will play a pivotal role in advancing BLCK VC’s initiatives.
Lo Toney is the Founding Managing Partner of Plexo Capital, an innovative investment firm focused on backing diverse venture capital managers and high-growth startups. With an extensive background spanning Google Ventures, Comcast Ventures, and operational leadership in the startup ecosystem, Lo’s expertise in fund management and strategic investing aligns seamlessly with BLCK VC’s vision for systemic change in the industry.
As Board Members, Candice and Lo will play key roles in shaping BLCK VC’s strategic direction, amplifying its impact, and fostering opportunities for the next generation of Black investors.
